What buildings to put in Old Western Town?

I am attempting to build an Old Western style town for my daughter’s upcoming cowboy type birthday party. I was planning just to have a jail but would like to add more buildings now.

I’ve looked and looked for images but I cannot find any that will help. I know when I was looking at different western themed party supplies and ideas I came across pictures someone had posted of a party where they had made their own. Of course I cannot find that website now!

I’m thinking a jail, general store, saloon, and hotel maybe would be good. I just don’t really know how they should look. I mean I could guess but I want them to look good.

Any ideas?

Sounds like you’re on the right track. How about a bank, a livery (stable), church, assay office, train station, barber and a Western Union.

Jail, bank, assayer and Western Union should probably be one story. Hotel/saloon should be in the same building, two-story. General store should be two story, but no windows on the upper floor (storage). Livery should look like a barn with a loft, with a corral next to it. Church should be narrow, with a steeple and some stained glass.

How about watch some western movies? There are lots of different looks. Minimal? “High Plains Drifter”. Stereotypical/cliche? “Blazing Saddles”. “High Noon”, “Once Upon a Time in the West” and “Big Jake” all have train station scenes. “Purgatory” has a nice church. “High Plains Drifter” has the barber shop (with striped pole), and “Pale Rider” has a pretty good general store.

Internet Radio for Parties

Planning a party can be challenging but the end result is so rewarding because you get to have a lot of fun with your friends and family for any occasion. Planning a party requires making a budget, deciding on a theme, what type of food to serve, what kind of music to play, and many other details. If you are throwing a party you should start planning for it a couple of weeks in advance. The most important aspect of any party that will make it a success is the music. Using an Internet radio station is the best choice to use for music at your party.

The first step for planning your party is knowing your budget. Once a budget is determined, you can allocate the funds for invitations, decorations, food, and other party supplies that you will need. You can have a themed party if you want such as a Hawaiian or country theme. Perhaps you are celebrating a particular occasion such as a birthday, graduation, or a baby shower. If you have a theme of a certain occasion you are celebrating, you can decide on appropriate music to play at your party.

Making a playlist can be a lot of fun and you may even discover a new band you had not heard of before. You can have a theme styled playlist or a mix of different genres, singer, and bands. If you are throwing a western themed party you should include a lot of country music at your party. People love to dance at parties, so good dance music is a necessity. You can make your playlist by listening to Internet radio stations to find songs for your playlist. When you hear a song on radio channel that you like, write it down and record it for your party playlist.

If you do not want to make a specific playlist for your party or prefer to just have background noise, you can have the radio on. If you choose to have the radio on during your party, using an Internet Radio station would be better than a traditional radio station. Having music play from the Internet can be less distracting because stations usually have fewer commercials and dj’s talking after every song. You can also find music from all over the world which is perfect if you are throwing a themed party.

The music at your party can get conversations started, especially if you are playing a popular song that people like. There is so much to talk about when it comes to music. Also, people love to dance at parties and can make it really fun.
