Strawberry shortcake character costume ideas?

I am going to be a sexy strawberry shortcake for halloween this year and I want my husband to be the peculiar purple pie man but we aren’t sure how to do his costume. Any one have any ideas on how to make one cheap?
I’m looking for costume ideas for the pie man for my husband.

For your husband, I would suggest a chef hat, a aqua button down shirt and dark purple slacks and maybe black italian style shiny boots, but that is up to you guys.

For the hat, any halloween store should have them, and get some Rit dye at either a clothing store or your local grocery store should have them. Then, I would go to the craft store, and get some aqua marine green and dark gray and start to paint th checker marks on your hat base. You should also get an apron at the costume Store, but I am sure you cn find some on ebay for A LOT cheaper.

He NEEDS to have a handlebar mustache that he can twirl around his finger. If you can’t find the properly colored clothes, I would dye some old ones that aren’t that important, since I know most stores do not sell purple slacks, but hey, sweat pants would work too.

For make up, I would add a light purple to his upper lids, and maybe a darker purple under his eyes.

For you, I would get a petticoat at a halloween store and look for a sexy Mrs. Clause, or a sexy elf if you can’t find a short cake dress. For a hat, I know that they sell those puffy caps at hat stores, but halloween store may be another option. The white and green striped stocking are addorable and they are a must. You could get a red/orange yarn wig or make one yourself. If you are going to the craft store, then I would also pick up some plastic strawberries to glue or pin to your clothing. You also can paint them on. You could also carry around a stuffed pink cat, but I don’t wear you might find a pink one.
