Baby Shower Candy Favors

I bought boxes and marshmallows to make some baby shower favors just like these:

Except my boxes are a little bit smaller, and I’m using miniature marshmallows.

But someone told me (after I had bought them) that it’s wrong to give out open candy! And they insisted on how it was bad because some people think it’s gross, and if someone gets “sick” they’ll think it was that. Someone also told me that, “that only applies to little school children”

But now I’m doubtful about what I should do. I was going to be very careful with it. My hands won’t touch the marshmallows at all. Is it really wrong? I mean, they’ll be eating all the other food I make..
